For years many of us relied on Verba, Joshua Hayes’s little Lewis & Short browser for the Mac, until it stopped being maintained. VerbaMac is my attempt to carry it forward. It’s a free, open-source app for anyone who reads Latin or Greek.
Type a word in any form, custodes, amo, λόγος, and VerbaMac tells you what it is and opens the full entry in Lewis & Short or Liddell–Scott–Jones. Everything works offline, with no account and no ads.
It runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. You’ll find download and install steps at VerbaMac on GitHub. If something isn’t right, please report it there.
